Where did the name ‘A Quintillion Words’ come from?

I love words. The fancier the better! Oxymoron, juxtaposition, quintillion… now there’s a good one! My surname also happens to be ‘Quinn’, so A Quintillion Words was born. Maybe I’ll write a quintillion words before my blogging time is up! 🙂 

Why did you start a blog?

When you’re passionate about something, you want to do it all the time! My passion is writing so having my own space to ramble on is perfect for me. I want to help other writers to feel as passionate as I do and to get their work out there! If I can help at least one person on their writing journey, then my blog has served it’s purpose well.

What do you blog about?

My main priority is to shout about books from indie authors, although I do review bigger names too. I love sharing what I love about a book and sharing how a book made me feel so other readers know exactly what to expect! I also post author interviews and news in the indie author community.

What is your day to day job?

When I’m not reading, I work as a Community Manager. I never thought I’d find a job that was so me, a job that wouldn’t make me dread Monday coming around again, but this is definitely it and I wouldn’t change it for the world!

Who are your influences?

This is a funny one. As a writer, people would expect your influences to be world renowned authors and poets. Shakespeare or J.K.Rowling. Edgar Allan Poe or Stephen King. My influences however, are the people who have encouraged me and believed in me. The bands I grew up with that just seemed to speak my language. The video games I played as a kid that grew my love for story telling. Those guys are the real heroes!

What can we expect from A Quintillion Words in the future?

A whole lotta book reviews! As well as more indie author news and interviews. And just hopefully some news about my own book if I ever finish it… The future is bright and I’m very much looking forward to it! 🙂
