Allowing us to do what we love, as well as giving hardworking authors what they need – honest book reviews!

Over the last few months, Maria, Jay and myself have been cooking up a little something behind the scenes. Let me paint a picture.

The three of us are authors. We love to write. The power of the writing community brought us together and we became friends. I personally reviewed the first book in Maria’s trilogy, The Metanoia Phases: The Change of Heart, and Jay’s novel, The Other Side. Both books were incredible in their own ways, and they have been such an inspiration for me to get started on my own novel, (which is coming along nicely, in case you were wondering!)

We then came up with an idea. Seeing as we all love reading and writing so much, then why don’t we do something with our passions? Soon after these thoughts, Books Of All Shades was born!

Okay, what’s Books Of All Shades?

Aha, excellent question! Books Of All Shades is the name of our little book club. The three of us have opened the gates and are welcoming authors of any kinds to present their novels to us in exchange for three detailed, honest book reviews.

Whether you’re an indie author, an author with one book or five books, an author of fiction books or non-fiction books – we’d love to hear from you.

How does it work?

To present you with our honest book reviews, we firstly need a copy of your novel. We’d prefer an electronic copy if possible – we know how expensive postage costs can be! If we can view it on a Kindle or e-reader, then that suits us just fine.

When we have your book at our finger tips, we can begin a 9 week process. At the end of each three week period, you’ll get a detailed book review as well as social media promotion throughout the 9 weeks too. Our reviews come in the form of two blog posts and one YouTube video. 

While one person reads and reviews your book, the rest of the team will be making sure the club runs smoothly and getting your book noticed across our social channels. No one will be left without a job, and as one review is published by one of us, the next member of the team will be getting started on reading and reviewing! (Sorry team, the authors come first. First rule of book club.)

By the end of the 9 weeks, our job is done. You’ll have not only gained three awesome reviews on each of our personal blogs and YouTube channel, but we’ll also post a review on GoodReads, Amazon, and any other platform you ask! Just let us know what you need.

What’s the catch?

There isn’t one! We’re offering these reviews completely free of charge to any author of any genre. We don’t only want to help other authors to succeed and get their work out there, but we also love to read and write too. It’s a win-win situation for everyone involved. All we ask is that you are a teeny bit patient while we get everything done for you. Quality wins, every time!

What we need from you.

If you’re interested in being added to our review list, firstly, welcome! 🙂 It’s great to hear you’re interested. Send us an email to booksofallshades@gmail.com with a little information about your novel. We’ll let you know where you’ve been slotted into our schedule as well as expected dates for your reviews to be published.

Here’s what we need from you, the author!

• An electronic copy of your novel (.mobi file if possible). If you are only able to send us a copy through gifting from Amazon, please bear in mind that we are located in the UK, Denmark and the US, so we’d need to be able to open these gifts from where we are located! 🙂 
• Any imagery/photos you’d be happy to for us to share across our blogs and on social media.
• Links to your own blog, website, etc for us to include in our reviews.
• Snippets of text if you’re happy to share some them.

For honest book reviews, we’re the guys to speak to.

That’s pretty much what we’re all about! We’re well aware that it can be very difficult building up a collection of great reviews; the main thing that encourages other readers to pick up your book! We want to make things that little bit easier for you.
